The Swamp, one of the most independent and alternative bands in China is famous for their music which is melancholy and touching. Aesthetic and blurred is the musical style of The Swamp. They always combine electronic, compound orchestral music, Jazz, acoustic & country style of China and even industrial noise in their alternative music to express what the feel, what they think and what they would take action or to emphasize on the circumstance which the human beings live in. But inside the music we would still feel the spirit of Rock & Roll and the criticism of persistent philosopher.
The Swamp, you may ask where the name comes from. In fact, its from the nature of human being to the shelter of our souls which is our deepest secret. It seems so closed between both of them. It seems not only weary but sentimentally, not only sluggish but also flowing, not only dissipated and dirty, but filling of life... In one word their music is the best way to express what they feel, what they care about and what they are responsible to.
The Swamp has been existed for couples of years. Since their first EP, Swamp released in 1996, they have been insisting to create, produce and release their own music. All what they do is called D.I.Y, from music composing, lyrics writing, sound recording to the design of CD covers. The Swamp is also the founder and organizer of Kai Ping 5.4 New Generation musical festivals from 1996 to now, which affects the Rock & Roll history of China.
